Dear Jun Seba,

darlena:

Today, it has been one year since you left us.
This poem is my tribute to you.

Sincerely,
Darlena

Nujabes Tribute
by Darlena Chiem

Unexpected and devastating
when Life came and pulled the plug,
Causing a turntable to stop spinning
Replaced with earth, freshly dug.

On the 26th of February,
you left this world
But before going,
you touched the life of a young girl.
You showed her a World Without Words
still speaks
Through the melody of souls
and the rhythm of heartbeats.

You inspired artists to look
beyond their low brims,
Set them free as a Feather
dancing in the wind.
Samurais and Hip Hop?
Not a chance.
Had the entire music world
doing the Aruarian Dance.

The young girl you inspired
has grown up, and
Out of your entire collection
There is one song that will always
remain in her recollection
You see, she fell in love
with Another Reflection.
It inspired her to look up
even when the Sky Is Falling
She’d just take a deep breath, listen
and hear the Voice of Autumn calling…

They say that your soul
has gone to rest, peacefully asleep
But I like to think you’re at work
Mixing heaven’s latest beat.

I never reblog myself, but today is an exception. Jun Seba tribute poem, slightly edited. Happy birthday Nujabes, thanks for everything.
